Life in the Prison

The life is all about earning a secure place for you in this turbulent society. It’s all about you actually, everything is orbiting around you, and you are the center of the whole damn galaxy (no offence Copernicus). Be it education, work, family, love, status, fame, money, social service – it’s all still centripetal in their very essence.

Just imagine you live in a self-sustained prison along with your family within the same cell, in a large prison facility. All your friends and relatives live in adjacent cells in the same block. The cells have a hierarchy – where a group of blocks constitutes to a cluster, group of clusters to a super cluster. The prison is the community of hundreds of these super clusters – separated from the rest of world.

You’re born in the prison and your parents did too. In fact everybody you know are born in this prison and nobody has any idea when their ancestors were imprisoned first. But they know a lot about the life there – how to live peacefully, how to maintain relationship with others, how to earn food from the guards, how to keep your cell clean, etc. You have lots of things to learn. In fact, you were sent to learn these things in the in-house school within your block where they teach and train you how to live in the prison, how to love it, its significance, in short how to live and die in the prison.

But I haven’t told you the bad side of being in the prison. Remember why you are in a prison at the first place? It’s because you’ve done something wrong – you are being punished. In reality, all of us are sentenced to death but no one knows when they get executed. Besides this we all are tortured on a daily basis. Most of the people are tortured like hell, suffer from starvation and famine. All of us are tortured daily by means of different torture devices physically and mentally. If you resist or question them, you get more torture.

Despite this intense suffering, people are used to the life in the prison because of the various amusements offered by the prison authority. The prison is equipped with theme parks, cinema theaters, cafes, stadiums and has all sorts of entertainment options. Every day you here advertisements of musical shows, dramas, parties, sports activities, etc. Your cell also buys all sorts of luxuries like cutting edge gizmos, home appliances, inter-cell vehicles and even hotels. But to get this fun you must have money. The only way of earning money is getting tortured. More you get tortured, more you earn money. It’s as simple as that.

The tortures are also people like you who were elected by the people to get them tortured in an orderly fashion. Tortures give you a sense of choice and all means of money and most significantly security. Tortures themselves get tortured too, but they have a relatively luxury life.

What did I forget, ah yes, the religion. The prison is full of various religions and everyone belongs to at least one. Most people believe that we’re being looked after and loved by the Chief Warden and they endlessly pray. According to them, they are being tortured because the warden loves them and wants to teach them something. But no one has ever seen the warden. Other people belongs to the “Nothing” religion, as they claim that they do not believe in anything. According to them, it’s all just physics kicking in from all directions.

I’ll tell you more about our life in another session. Until then, get tortured and have fun!
